Generally, most people think of drones as robots but actually they are simply a platform for getting sensors into the sky. In most cases the drone’s payload is a camera, but cameras come in many shapes and sizes and have a large variety of uses from taking pictures for social media to capturing heat sensing infrared imagery for search and rescue or fire fighting.  Many people in the drone industry are full time pilots but may have other titles like police officer or inspector or photographer. And, not everyone in the drone industry is a pilot; they are manufacturers, retailers, logistics specialists, sales representatives, educators, and more! For most of these careers there are very important industry specific skills that are required above and beyond simply flying a drone!  Check out these five Orange County-based colleges to get trained in a variety of skills that will take your career to the next level!
